Mr. Obafemi Adewale, graduated from University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) where he bagged his LL.B (Hons.) in 1979. Following his call to the Bar in July 1980, he had his National Youth Service at the Kano State Ministry of Justice. He has been in active legal practice since 1980. With almost 40 years of successful active legal practice, he has engaged in several matters which has become locus classicus.  He established Obafemi Adewale & Co. in 1984 and had it registered in 1985.

Mr. Adewale is a very active member of the Nigerian Bar Association, a body he has served in various capacities both at the local and national levels culminating in his election as the youngest ever National General Secretary of the Association in 1990 at 33 years of age. He has been a member of the National Executive Committee of the NBA without interruption since 1985 when he was first elected as a National Assistant Secretary. He is now a life member of the National Executive Committee of the Association. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and had once served on its Governing Council, representing the NBA. He is also a member of the Body of Benchers of the NBA a most coveted and prestigious body of NBA.

Mr. Adewale has at different times served on the membership of various bodies in the legal profession including the Legal Aid Council, Council of Legal Education, the General Council of the Bar and the Body of Benchers which is the highest regulatory authority in the legal profession in Nigeria. He was recently conferred the prestigious rank of the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)

A public spirited person who firmly believes that public service is a noble calling, Mr. Obafemi Adewale was an elected delegate to the 1994/95 Constitutional Conference that drew up the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Thereafter, he was in 1996 appointed a member of the pioneer Governing Council of the National Human Rights Commission.

Mr. Adewale served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and later Commissioner for Works and Transport in Ekiti State.

Mr. Adewale’s wealth of experience both in legal practice and public service has benefitted the law firm tremendously.
